  • Board Vice President

    Rona Hummel is an accountant who has served on the Danville Area Community Center’s board since 2018. She is the Vice President of the board and serves on the finance committee. Having grown up in Danville, she appreciates the value the DACC brings to the community. Rona has a Masters in Taxation from American University. In addition to her work at the DACC, Rona enjoys coaching her daughters’ soccer team and cheering for them at swim meets.

  • Dr. Laura Spahr is a general pediatrician with Geisinger Bloomsburg Pediatrics and has served as the Secretary of the Danville Area Community Center since 2018. She joined the board to become more actively involved in the community and to support an organization that makes a difference every day to the residents of the community and supports their well being. Laura went to Franklin & Marshall College and continued her studies at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine for her medical degree. Laura’s husband grew up in Danville and they are happy to be raising their three kids here as well. She loves racquet sports and plays tennis and pickleball as much as she can. Laura volunteers to help coach the Danville High School tennis team.

  • Bryan Cotner is the founder and president of Boyd Station, a local agri-business that has become one of the leading organic oilseed processors in the nation, distributing vegetable oils to food manufacturers throughout the country. He is a proud graduate of Danville High School and Cornell University, where he earned a degree in environmental engineering. Bryan and his wife are both lifelong Danville residents and consider themselves extremely fortunate that they can raise their three children in such a wonderful community. Bryan has been a DACC board member since 2019.

  • Nicholas Johnston is the Vice President of Carriage Manor Builders in Danville. He is a graduate of Danville High School (Class of 2001), Bloomsburg University, and The University of Scranton where he earned his Masters of Business Administration in 2014. Nicholas and his wife, Holly, are lifelong Danville residents and love raising their three children in the same tight-knit community in which they were raised.

    Dr. Amanda Manning is a general pediatrician practicing in Bloomsburg and has been on the DACC board since January 2020 after a hiatus having served on the board for several years previously. She participates in the personnel and COVID-19 committees.

    Amanda and her husband, Jim Zola, have been members of the DACC since 1996. Their children attended preschool at the DACC and participated in swim lessons. Amanda’s family has participated in many DACC activities from swim meets to art auctions to the 5-K. In appreciation for the many benefits they have received, serving on this board has felt like a great way to give back to the community.

    Amanda enjoys spending time and traveling with her family. She is interested in continued learning and serving the community with a particular interest in the health and social needs of children and the community at large.

  • Mary Snyder is a retired educator and has served in multiple capacities since 1998 at the Danville Area Community Center. She grew up in Scranton as the eldest of five children in a loving family and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics from Marywood College (University) in 1967.

    While growing up, she was able to spend many happy hours at the Scranton Catholic Youth Center. She attributes these memories and many years of gratitude as a Danville resident as her reasons for her involvement since her retirement at the DACC.

    Following her college graduation, Mary successfully completed the necessary coursework and obtained certification to teach in Pennsylvania. She taught school until 1997.

    She lives in Danville with her husband, Bob, daughter Sarah Sommer and her husband Paul and their children Thea and David. In addition, they have a son Bob and his wife, Michelle, and children Jackson, Caitlyn and Ben who live in Washington state.

    Bob and Mary Snyder continue to support DACC in various ways and capacities including serving on the current Board of Directors and committees of that Board involved in the Strategic Planning process.

  • Laurinda Voelcker, has served on the Danville Area Community Center’s board from 2013-2017 and again from 2020 to the present. She is an attorney with the Danville law firm of Voelcker and Wagner. She serves on the personnel committee for the DACC. She was born and raised in Danville and holds a BA from Boston University and a JD from University of Denver. She enjoys spending time with her nephews and her cats as well as vacationing in Canada.

  • Dave Weader joined the DACC Board of Directors in December 2021, having previously served on the Board from 2012-2014. He is an attorney who serves as the general counsel for Geisinger Health Plan and holds a BA from Vanderbilt University, an MHA from The Ohio State University and a JD from Boston University. Dave and his wife Cleo are both natives of Danville, longtime members of the DACC and grateful to be raising their two children in Danville.

  • Amy is a Danville native and has been a Danville Area School District administrator since 2017. She has worked extensively with students at all grade and ability levels. Amy's educational experiences include an Undergraduate Degree in Human Development from Penn State University and a Master of Science in Exceptionalities from Bloomsburg University. She holds administrative certifications in both School Administration and Supervision of Special Education.

    Amy has served on the Good Samaritan Board since 2019. She and her husband enjoy watching her children participate in sports and spending time together outdoors.

  • Shannon Wood joined the DACC Board of Directors in September 2022. She is the Director of Geisinger’s Office of Sponsored Projects and oversees the organization’s research/programmatic grants and industry research contracts. She holds a BS and MBA from York College of Pennsylvania where she was a collegiate softball player from 2005-2007. Shannon and her wife Taylor are transplants and moved to Danville in 2015. They love raising their son in a small town with a tight knit community.

  • Stephanie's first adventure at the DACC was an "All-Nighter" sometime in the early 1990's! In the years since, she has participated in many activities with her husband and two sons, from Swim Lessons to Basketball. Stephanie is an Associate Broker and Sales Manager at Villager Realty in Danville. She is involved in the community and loves to give back. She has been a member of and held officer positions in the Danville Kiwanis Club, Soroptimists of Montour County, and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Central Susquehanna Valley Board of Realtors as Vice President. A proud Danville native, her passion is to showcase all the wonderful things our area has to offer, making Danville a wonderful place to live, work and play!
